To keep ahead of demand, particularly for our ever-expanding lines of SEIKO OPTICAL Free-form products, a major restructuring was necessary.
From just one Generator and a single Polisher, two complete, automated lines of Satis Loh surfacing equipment were added; the facility's infrastructure was completely redesigned; and the production area of the Toronto facility was increased by an additional 5,000 square feet. Then, linking every step of the manufacturing process together, a new computer-controlled conveyor system, custom designed to move each lens-in-progress from station to station, and from one end of the enlarged structure to the other, with amazing speed and efficiency.
From the initial order processing through to quality control, Plastic Plus is now utilizing 100% digital, precision surfacing, and processing all lenses to 1/1,000th of a diopter – which makes an enormous difference when it comes to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of each and every lens produced.
